Artistic Designs Dance Company Interview with Jolene Indolfi and Danielle Patterson

OwnersArtistic Designs Dance Company in Liverpool, New York, is owned by Jolene Indolfi and Danielle Patterson. In addition to being co-owners, Jolene is also the Artistic Director and Danielle is the Director of Artistic Designs Dance Company.

Danielle is a graduate of Liverpool High School and State University New York Oswego where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Arts in English Literature. She started her career as a an assistant director of a major child care center giving her experience in both office management and child development. Eventually she decided to become a stay at home mother devoting her time to her daughters. She later decided to partner with Jolene Indolfi to open Artistic Designs.

Jolene Indolfi has been teaching dance in both Central New York and the Southern Tier for over a decade. She is a graduate of the State University of New York at Oneonta. At State University New York Oneonta she was a choreographer and performer for the Terpsichorean Dance Company and she served on their executive board. Her choreography has been showcased in performances by the Thought Alarm Theater as well as several other regional theater companies. Many of Jolene’s dancers have received top overall score awards at numerous regional and national dance.

Artistic Designs Dance Company is one of the premier competitive studios in the Central New York area. They focus on strong technique and brilliant artistry. Artistic Designs believes that with hard work and extreme dedication, dancers can rise to the top and Dancersbecome amazing dancers who can achieve anything!

Artistic Designs starts intense training with their competitive students at a very young age. This has earned the studio a reputation of being a great place to dance for a competitive mini dancer. Jolene and Danielle believes that a dancer with the right drive and passion is never too young to begin their serious dance career.

They are just starting their third season. Jolene says it is a crazy feeling when they realize how quickly they have come from Artistic Design’s first day three years ago to placing in the top 10’s at Nationals. This is an amazing accomplishment in the short time that they have been open. Every time a new student comes in and says that they have heard that Artistic Designs is the place to be, it makes Danielle and Jolene very proud. They realize that it is their dancers that are earning the studio this amazing reputation.

Jolene believes that dancers make the biggest mistake when they have a closed mind towards trying something new. She believes that it is important to not let themselves get stuck in a box and unable to dance outside their comfort zone.

Their goal for Artistic Designs this year is to continue to grow, compete, and get their name out in the dance community! As a new studio, it is important to spread the studio’s name around the community in order for the studio to grow. Their staff has grown, their dancers are training hard, and they are excited for the upcoming season!

Danielle and Jolene were inspired to start a studio because they share a passion for competitive dance. They wanted to create a studio for dancers who value hard work and creativity . . . a studio for dancers who do not just want to dance, but for those who need to dance!

delaney connellyJolene wants everyone to know that in addition to their competitive dances, they also have a thriving recreational program for dancers of all ages. Even though their recreational dancers may not want to dance professionally, they still want to focus on proper technique in the various styles they are learning. But, they want to learn in a more relaxed atmosphere where they can learn, grow, have fun, and get great exercise. Some of the classes taught at Artistic Designs are the typical dances like Ballet, Jazz, Tumbling, Hip Hop, plus some less typical classes such as Choreography, Styles, Stretch and Improve. These are just some of the classes offered. Their competitive company members have the opportunity to assistant teach in recreational classes and it is a great environment for everyone involved. They all end up having an amazing time!

  1. We love Artistic Designs Dance Company. My daughter has been training with them since their opening, and now into her third season, at the age of just 8, is doing extraordinary things and has grown immensely in confidence and in dance. ADDC provides a professional but nurturing environment that allows dancers to learn to challenge themselves. We are so very thankful for our experiences with Jolene and Danielle and the Artistic Designs Dance Company and wish them all the success as they continue to flourish.
