Dancing is for everyone, but each individual has different goals and aspirations. The same is true about the benefits achieved by each dancer. Most importantly, even scientists are linking dance to more mental and physical health benefits. The sooner you begin your journey, the sooner you benefit. Beyond Dancing’s tailor made programs are built to focus on the basic dance foundation to the most advanced techniques and styles. Beyond Dancing strives to spread the joy of dancing through a platform of excellence in instruction and service to help their students achieve their personal dance goals in a fun and enjoyable atmosphere.

Rachel Uneberg, Co-Founder and Studio Director, is most proud of the students that walk into the studio shy and uncomfortable with themselves then walk out with straighter posture, more confidence, and a better appreciation of themselves because of what they have learned and accomplished at Beyond Dancing. Even students that are naturally confident show an increased self awareness and control which allows them to excel and develop a love for the sport of dancing.

The biggest mistake Rachel sees dancers make is to not believe in themselves and use negative self talk. Yes, dance is an art. But, it is also a skill that just needs time, practice, and dedication to flourish. The way to keep yourself from getting down on yourself when something is difficult is to remember how you started and how far along you have come at applause competitionthat point. Remember not to compare yourself with others or your teachers/coaches, but to compare yourself from your starting point. This will always give you a boost in confidence! The best dancers are not the ones with the best technique; they are actually the most confident dancers that believe in themselves!

Rachel’s goal for Beyond Dancing this year is to grow their studio’s student body. They have some of the best teachers in the area and Rachel knows they have a lot to offer their community! Their competition group will be performing around their community and it’s their hope to get them as much performance opportunities as possible to show off their love and passion of dance.

Beyond Dancing was born out of a passion to serve others and to help people develop a love for their sport. There are many benefits of dance that Beyond Dancing would like you to experience. Their students say they enjoy these benefits both on and off the dance floor. Numerous health benefits alone keep their students coming on a regular basis, while singles and couples alike find that dancing has soon created more romance in their lives. More importantly, their dancers feel more confident each time they accept a dance on the social dance floor. Additionally, dancing improves mind and body coordination; improves posture and demeanor; and relieves stress.
