November Dancer of the Month – Terran Crelly

Terran Crelly has been selected as our November Dancer of the Month. She describes herself as a dancer who feels the most comfortable in the studio and on the stage. This is where she feels most herself and where she is free to express the different sides of her personality. She can be sassy and sarcastic but also can be quiet and introverted. It just really depends on whimg_7593o she is around.

Because she was the only child in her family, Terran only knew how to relate to adults and at two years of age, she was really shy. Since her Mom grew up dancing and for a long time she taught dance on and off, she felt dance classes could help. Consequently, her parents put her into her first dance class because she did not know how to interact wit h other little kids.

Terran says that she has had a few really great moments, like being named Apprentice of The PowerPak and Apprentice of Platinum Dance Convention. However, winning the National Title at KAR last year and being named Junior Miss Dance America were her happiest moments on stage. img_7694-2

One thing that Terran has always wanted to do is to be in a dancewear magazine.

Terran and her Mom have shopped online through Bailar Dancewear for the last couple of years.  Her Mom makes most of Terran’s solo costumes and she says it is really neat going through the process of picking out different dancewear pieces and fabrics. When she and her Mom have been trying to choose colors, they will order color cards to see the different fabric swatches. She likes that they are able to see how the material feels and see what the color actually looks like before they actually purchase the items. Not only do they order when they are creating dance costumes, but they usually order her convention outfits, too. Also, she loves how every piece fits and if something has not worked well for some reason, they are able to send it back to exchange for what they need.

Her goals foimg_7586r this year are to just work hard and be the best that she can be.  Since she is now 12, she is moving into the teen age category, so that’s exciting. She wants to continue to tell stories through dance and use her talents to help others when she can. She is a Dance.Hope.Cure Ambassador, so she supports the cause of finding a cure for Childhood Cancers.  This year she hopes to do more photo shoots for the cause and help in any way she can.

Terran would like to own her own dance studio some day. Therefore, she would like to go to college to major in dance and business, so she can learn how to run her own studio.

  1. Terran Crelly is one of my very dancers to watch perform. She is one of those kids that grabs your attention and makes not want her number to end. She is a hard working and dedicated dancer. She now has a little sister who watches her every move and soaks it all in. Hopefully lightening will strike twice in the Crelly family. ⚡️

  2. Terran is my granddaughter and her Pop Pop and I could not be prouder of her accomplishments.
At five years old, she would run from the family room (after counting, FIVE, SIX, SEVEN, EIGHT)
Into our kitchen to use the oven door to watch herself as she practiced her latest routine! In fact,
Last Thanksgiving after eating – she was face timing with one of her teachers – going over some
Final details of her solo….THAT’s dedication…
