Ringgold High School Tiger Girls Dance Team Interview with Maddison Rowe

According to Maddison Rowe, The Ringgold High School Tiger Girls Dance Team from Ringgold, Georgia, is a very dedicated program that started in 2008, and is constantly working hard to achieve their goals. The Tiger Girls perform at pep rallies, on the sidelines at football games, halftime at basketball games, and community events. The Tiger Girls competed for the 4th time at UDA Nationals February,2016, the biggest stage in the country for competitive dance teams. In 2015 the Tiger Girls advanced to semi- finals for the first time in small varsity Hip Hop. The Tiger Girls are 4 time state champions- 2016 Small Varsity Hip Hop Champions, 2015 Varsity Hip Hop Champions, 2014 Small Varsity Hip Hop Champions, and 2014 Small Varsity Pom Champions.

The Tiger Girls work non-stop all year long. Even when dance season ends and they get their one month break they are all still at the dance studio, or they all go to the football field and start practicing by themselves for the next upcoming year! Their team is not just a normal dance team, they are a family that is always there for each other, and always lifting each other up!

Rowe’s proudest moment of being a part of the Ringgold Dance Team is 2015 at UDA Nationals when their team advanced to semi-finals in Small Varsity Hip Hop for the first time. One of their dancers got sick an hour before they had to perform, and had to go to the ER. They had to change formations, and they were extra nervous going on to the biggest stage of the country, but they danced as hard as they could and it defiantly paid off! Watching both of their coaches cry for the first time, her first year being on the team, made her feel like she could accomplish anything with my team!

Every year something big happens like advancing to semis, and winning state consecutively, so when their younger dancers come up they all see how much they want to win and excel, and it makes them have the drive to work harder than they ever have for it!

Their goals for the team this year are to make it to finals in both dances at the 2017 National Dance Team Championship, have even crazier tricks in their routines, and to always be positive and keep lifting each other up no matter the circumstances, and leave it all on the floor every performance!

They want to thank their amazing coaches, and everyone who has supported them throughout the years for getting them to where they are today! Their team hashtag is #nothingisautomatic

Their team is not just a normal dance team, they are a family that is always there for each other . . . .
