The Dance Centers of Orlando Interview With Lynn Ayers

We interviewed Lynn Ayers, the owner of the Dance Centers of Orlando in Fern Park, a suburb of Orlando, Florida, and the mother of one of the dancers.  In her opinion, the Dance Centers of Orlando stands out because of their family atmosphere where they respect the children and parents, Dance Centers of Orlando Performanceas well as the parent.  Additionally, their dancers are still receiving quality training and no “dance moms” are allowed.

Lynn believes that everyone at Dance Centers of Orlando are committed to making this the best dance studio in the area, providing the finest dance instruction in Orlando and the rest of Central Florida.

Dance Centers of Orlando provides quality instruction and choreography in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Musical Theater, Hip-Hop, Lyrical, Acrobatics, Pointe, Contemporary, Modern, Strength and Toning, plus all types of Cirque du Soleil classes and more.

Lynn believes that any studio can say they have the best teachers, but her teacher’s reputations speak for themselves.  Their dance and acrobatics instructors are working professionals in the dance world with years of combined teaching experience behind them.  Additionally, their teachers are talented professionals in the dance world and provide quality dance instruction.  Their faculty and guest instructors include past and present performers from Broadway, Blue Man Group, Radio City Rockettes, Cirque du Soleil, major recording artists, films, and the Top 20 of So You Think You Can Dance.  They provide excellent technical and artistic training for their students in both traditional dance class styles and in the newer, different or edgier dance class styles.  They strive to stay current with the latest trends and techniques.

Dance Centers of Orlando PerformanceOne way the Centers motivate their dancers is by teaching them that they are the masters of their own destiny.  Also, they stress that motivation and perspiration need to be applied in equal parts.

When asked what was her proudest moment as a dance teacher, Lynn replied, “Just seeing the children happy is all it takes for me.”

Lynn believes that the biggest mistake dancers make when competing or performing is not connecting with the audience.  She feels that it is up to someone in their studio to explain the difference between being a “dancer” and a “performer.”

According to Lynn, the “must have” dancewear items every dancer needs is dancewear that makes the children feel at ease.

Her goal for this year is just to put together a team of devoted children.  Their goals as a dance studio and performance dance company are to help parents build a child’s character and self-esteem, while teaching an art and a skill, in a clean, supportive atmosphere with excellent dance instruction, facilities and equipment.

Lynn initially started the studio because she didn’t see her son and his friends improving where they were.
