UConn

We have not yet had the opportunity to interview the UConn Dance Team, if you are associated with the UConn Dance Team please have someone from the team email us at Brittany@BDancewear.com to set up an interview (only takes a few minutes and it’s free).

In the meantime here is some quick insights about this UConn Dance Team from their website.

UConnFounded in 2005, the UConn Kickline Team is a University of Connecticut Dance Team and Club Sports Organization. The Kickline Team encompasses many styles of dance including jazz, hip-hop, pom and sequences of high-kicks. The high-kick style of dance may be seen as similar to that of the Radio City Rockettes. Throughout the year, the team performs at basketball games and volleyball games. One of the Kickline Team’s biggest commitments is to the UConn Homecoming Celebrations. During the week they take part in the banner competition, the annual parade and float building competition, pageant and alma mater sing as well as the most prized event, the Lip Sync Competition. Towards the end of the semester they begin their basketball and volleyball game performances and then in the Spring, the team begins its Competition Season. They usually participate in two to three competitions, including Central Connecticut State University Devil’s Dare Competition, Westfield State’s Cheer and Dance Challenge sponsored by UDA, and the Nassau Community College Scholastic Kickline Competition. Throughout the year the UConn Kickline Team takes part in many recreational activities. Team dinners allow for a night out on the town as well as a great chance to bond. Every year they have a Holiday Dinner as well as their annual end of the season team dinner. They attend many on campus activities together such as UConn Football Games. The team works hard but most importantly it’s about having fun!! Additionally, each year the UConn Kickline Team performs at the Mansfield Senior Center. The elderly patients love their kickline routines and the team loves performing for them!
