University of Wisconsin-Eau ClaireThe University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Blue Gold Dancers make up an organization designed to represent the university at competitions and perform at sporting events, particularly basketball games. The styles they specialize in are contemporary lyrical/jazz and hip hop. The Team competes against other college dance teams at local and national competitions, and they hold an annual high school dance team competition and clinic here at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Those attending the clinic have the choice of learning a jazz, hip hop, or lyrical routine taught by members of the team. The team members are hardworking, dedicated, and talented individuals who LOVE to dance! The UWEC Dance Team also competes in various competitions throughout the season such as the St. Thomas Invitational, UDA Spirit of America, and UDA College Cheer and Dance Nationals. Then team placed very during the 2014-2015 competition season. They placed 1st in Hip Hop and in Jazz in the UWEC completion. In the UDA Spirit of America competition, they placed 4th in Jazz and 2nd in Hip Hop. Lastly, they placed 7th in the Jazz Finals and 11th in the Hip Hop Finals at the UDA Nationals is Orlando, Florida.
