Tessa Miracle started her dance career when she was five years old and her mom asked her if she wanted to take dancing lessons. Tessa was always dancing around the house and she thought taking a dance class would be fun and that it would help wear her out. (She has tons of energy!)
According to Tessa, her happiest moment relating to dance has to be when she won her first national title. It had been a very hard year because one of her sisters had passed away and it was so nice to be recognized for her hard work.
Tessa has always wanted to ride the subway in New York City. She went to New York City but her mom is “afraid” of the subway, so Tessa didn’t get to see what it was all about. However, her mom has promised that the next time they went to New York City they would definitely ride the subway.
Tessa says her first experience buying from Bailar Dancewear was amazing! Her mom was panicking because Tessa’s costume hadn’t arrived and they only had two weeks left until she was supposed to go on stage. Her mom knew that she could make a costume, but shewasn’t sure if she could get all the pieces she needed in enough time to put them all together.
Her mom placed the order with Bailar and then sent them an email explaining the urgency. She received a response right away and had all the pieces in three days. Without that kind of response and customer service, Tessa believes that she likely would have been dancing in a plain leotard. (Tanya, Tessa’s mom, said that Bailar Dancewear was her “savior” for the last competition season. Her daughter’s costume did not come in time and she realized she had to make one. She placed an order for some briefs, a halter, and some matching mesh from Bailar. She e-mailed the explaining her problem and had her order in three days. Tanya also said, “Now that I know I can make costumes, I will be ordering all Tessa’s ‘base’ pieces this season from Bailar! I don’t believe I will receive better customer service anywhere else.”
Tessa’s goals as a dancer this year are to increase her flexibility on her left side (it is good, but not quite as good as her right side) so she will be able to do ten pirouettes (she can do seven now), and so continue growing as an artist. Her goal for school is to find ways to become a better reader. She was just diagnosed with dyslexia, so she needs to find ways that will help her brain learn differently.
Tessa wants to become a professional dancer. She loves Broadway and would love to perform there. She loves ballet, too, and would love to be part of a ballet company. However, she also loves the commercial dance/hip hop side, so Los Angeles isn’t out of the question either. Bottom line is, Tessa just wants to dance for the rest of her life.
