The Emmanuel College Dance Team is one of the school’s three Spirit teams – dance, cheer and mascot. The Dance Team performs at all home men’s and women’s basketball games and participates in various competitions. The dancers are part of the heart and soul of the athletic community, as they foster College pride and encourage fans. In addition to performing at the home basketball games, the Saints also perform at other major events on campus, including Midnight Madness, Open Mic Night, E.C.D.T Dance Showcase, and Mr. Emmanuel. The team consistently volunteers and performs each year at the Boston Breast Cancer Walk for the American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” on the Charles River Esplanade. As representatives of Emmanuel College which is a Christian college, the dancers aspire to ignite the fire of G0d through various forms of dance. They minister to the student body, church congregations, street outreaches and other dance projects. The dancer’s Their goals are to: (1) demonstrate that God and His people are not bound to one worship style, (2) revive the worship expression of “Karar” demonstrated throughout the Bible, and (3) allow God’s freedom and their passion to be portrayed through dance.
