Chloe Schwartz is from Queens, New York and is our January Dancer of The Month. She is a 12 year old competitive dancer who loves performing all styles of dance but her passion is ballet. Next year, she will be trying out for Laguardia Performing Arts HS (Fame HS) for 9th grade.
Chloe started dancing school at the age of 2 ½ but want wanted her mom in the room with her so after several weeks they told her to come back the following year. She did and has not looked back ever since. She immediately fell in love and was able to pick up the choreography really quick. By age 5, her dance school asked her to join their team, The Dancin’ New York Allstars, and by age 6 she had her first solo. Chloe is still with the same team till this day.
This past summer has been Chloe’s happiest moment in dance. She won both first place overall and the title of Junior Miss STARPOWER in Atlantic City, NJ at STARPOWER Nationals. She was also awarded the Future Star Award and was featured in January 2017 issue of Dance Spirit Magazine. She felt amazing because of all the hard work and dedication that she put in which included focusing more on ballet and taking private ballet classes leading up to nati onals.
Chloe says her experiences with Bdancewear have been great! Her mom has created costumes for her solos using one of the many choices we have to offer. They have worked perfectly and the fit is really nice as well as comfortable. Currently, her mom is working on a new lyrical costume with Bdancewear briefs.
Chloe’s goals for this year are to incorporate as much ballet and core exercises into her training. She feels she needs to strengthen herself as it is her first year in the teen category and will be the youngest in the overall category. She hopes to attend Laguardia HS and then study dance at Julliard and ultimately performing on Broadway and/or Lincoln Center.
