Our February Dancer of the Month is 17 year old Madison Konorosky. Although Madison is very shy around new people until she gets to know them, she is still very talkative. She is obsessed with dancing but when she is not dancing, she enjoys playing golf. She is very athletic, loves staying fit and eating healthy!
Madison got started in dance when her parents enrolled her in dance at two years of age. She also tried cheerleading and gymnastics but it did not take long before those activities fell by the wayside and dance became her ultimate passion. Her love for dance just continues to grow.
Although Madison has had many happy moments in dance, her all time favorite was dancing with Shaping Sound, the Company. She admires every single dancer in the Company, especially Jamie Goodwin, Chantel Aguirre and Travis Wall. Madison aspires to someday become as great and as brilliant as they are. She feels She believes it was an amazing opportunity to dance with the Company and experience what it is like to be in a company.
She is now a senior in high school and planning on attending Point University after graduation. She also plans on playing golf at Point and continuing to dance throughout college even though she will not be majoring in Dance. She still hopes to join a company like Shaping Sound or Hubbard Street in Chicago some day.
Madison says her experience with Bdancewear was great! She loves them partly because they have tons of colors and fabric materials available. Plus, even though they make their dancewear when they are ordered, they still ship quickly which is also a plus !
Madison also has many goals for this next year. Like every other dancer, one of her goals is to focus more on technique. She also wants to grow more as a dancer. She wants to become a more rounded dancer. Additionally, she wants to take some ballroom or partner dancing classes. She hopes to learn more about her body and how to get in the best possible condition so she can continue to dance throughout her life.
She says that she honestly is not really sure on where dance is going to take her. She just hopes it takes her somewhere great. She hopes that her dancing leads her to people who share her love and passion for dance – just any place where she can continue to grow not only as a dancer but also as a person. Madison says that dance has taught her many life lessons. She just wants to continue dancing and wants to teach others all the knowledge about dance that she has learned and, hopefully, will continue to learn.
