Miranda Radcliff is a 16-year old dancer and student who absolutely loves to learn new things and dance whether it be in class, for her school dance team, by herself or competitively with her dance company. She began dancing when her mom started her in a tot-combo class at the age of four.
She says that she has had many “happiest” moments related to dance but one of her highlights was auditioning for Joffrey Ballet School for her very first time when she was 12. She was not only accepted to attend both the Los Angeles and New York City summer programs but also won it on a scholarship. It was that summer that she also connected with a Joffery Teacher, Chehon Wespi-Tschopp, winner of So You Think You Can Dance and founder of I Am Force (IAF) dance. Miranda has since been able to work with Chehon on some solo choreography and has been lucky enough to be a part of his IAF dance team. These experiences combined have changed her as a dancer and a person. It was these two events that made her realize that a small town girl could have a future in dance, too.
Miranda has a big list of things she wants to do but something that is close in her reach, is attending and competing at the Dance Awards. This is something that she plans to do this summer.
She says she loves her experience buying from B Dancewear. She has used B Dancewear basics for at least four custom costumes. Not only do they fit really well, but they have an abundance of colors and very good prices.
Miranda’s goals for this year definitely include competing at Dance Awards. Additionally, she has been able to do some student teaching and choreography and she would like to do more of that this year and pass on what she has learned to younger dancers.
Since Miranda is soon transitioning into her senior year of high school, she has been spending a lot of time trying to decide what direction she wants to take her dancing. She is definitely college bound so finding a school that will offer both a strong dance program along with academics is important to her. She feels strongly that she want to be involved in dance and choreography in her future and hopefully she will be able to apprentice or work her way up through that area of dancing.
When Miranda was eight years old, she met a dance teacher that forever changed the course of her life. Jeanine Taddeo moved to Miranda’s town from New York and began teaching Miranda when she was eight years old. Miranda admired Miss Jeanine and wanted to work hard for her. Miranda says Jeanine has made her into the dancer she is today and Miss Jeanine opened her up to a world of dance that Miranda never dreamed existed. If it wasn’t for Miss Jeanine, Miranda is not sure she would have all these great experiences that she has had.
