We have not yet had the opportunity to interview the P-CEP Varsity Dance Team, if you are associated with the P-CEP Varsity Dance Team please have someone from the studio email us at Brittany@BDancewear.com to set up an interview (only takes a few minutes).
In the meantime here is some quick info about this dance team.
P-CEP is the official team of the united co-ed Varsity and JV competitive dance teams at Plymouth, Canton, and Salem High Schools located in Canton, Michigan. The P-CEP Dance Team was established in September 2010 by Coach Maria Lloyd and Coach Kelly Curtis to expand the opportunities for serious dancers, both male and female, to competitively dance in the contemporary and jazz styles for Plymouth-Canton Educational Park (P-CEP). P-CEP is the name of the high school campus composed of Plymouth, Canton, and Salem High Schools in Canton, Michigan. Originally, there was only a Varsity team. In 2013, a Junior Varsity team was formed in addition to the Varsity team. To this day, the team still holds true to its purpose: to provide elite male and female dancers at P-CEP an opportunity to have all of the benefits of a high school d ance team without sacrificing dance studio commitments. The team practices twice a week and competitions are generally on Sundays. In addition to the multiple competitions against other local high school dance teams that both the Junior Varsity and Varsity teams participate in throughout the season, the team also guest performs for events in the Plymouth-Canton community, such as Diversity Show, Plymouth Saberette Show, and the Salem Rockette Show. At the end of the season, an annual recital for family and friends is held at Cherry Hill Village Theatre in Canton, Michigan. The recital allows team members to showcase their competition routines, as well as their own choreography specifically made for the recital. In addition, the annual showcase invites members of the school and community to perform with the team, such as Varsity Guy/Girl and routines from the many dance studios that team members represent. Throughout the year, the team holds many bonding activities such as a welcome potluck, fundraisers, end of the year banquet, pool parties, team sleepovers, and more. With over 6,000 students at P-CEP, P-CEP Dance Team allows both male and female dancers to find their niche with the team during their four years of high school.
Recently, P-CEP’s Junior Varsity team won 2nd place and Varsity won 3rd place hip hop, 2nd place jazz and choreography award for jazz!!! Three of their soloist took home 1st place in their categories!!!!
