Leila Parello, owner and director of the School of Ballet Arts in Southern California, Dancers in blueemphasizes the joy of dance in a friendly, non-competitive environment. Leila has taught ballet at major institutions, including San Jose City College, San Diego Civic Youth Ballet (artistic Judydirector), USIU (now Alliant University), California Ballet School, and the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Continuing Education Program.

Leila has taught ballet since 1972. Originally, she opened the School of Ballet Arts in San Jose, California. She later relocated her school in Southern California, where she choreographed major productions such as The Nutcracker, Coppelia Act I, and other original works. She held the position of assistant to the director of the San Francisco Ballet School. In San Diego County, she choreographed new productions, such as Beauty and the Beast, La Boutique Fantasque, Winter Dream, Coppelia Act I, Scenes from Sleeping Beauty, Chopiniana, and Carmen. Leila has taught ballet at major institutions, such as, San Jose City College, San Diego Civic Youth Ballet (artistic director), USIU (now Alliant University), California Ballet School, and the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Continuing Education Program.

Leila feels a need to pass on her knowledge to others and to remain active in the field. PatiShe loves to dance and instill the love of dance within others. The idea of making her living doing what she loves is a source of joy for her. She cannot believe she is so lucky.

Leila maintains the School of Ballet Arts is a very friendly and personal school where students can get individualized coaching and corrections. She believes ballet requires meticulous attention to detail and she strives to make sure students are learning the correct concepts and applying them to their ballet work.
