The Pride Dance Team is a competitive sport club at Springfield College that performs at home varsity football and basketball games. PDT attends at least two competitions a year including Universal Dance Association Regionals at Westfield State. PDT competes in jazz and hip-hop, and also performs pom. Practices are open to everyone in the spring after competition season is over and try-outs for new members take place every year in September. In addition, the dance team holds an annual exhibition fundraiser every February. Reach for the Stars is a fundraiser by the college dance team that displays the team’s talent and hard work and is dedicated to an amazing cause. Last December, the show and the profits went to the Jed Foundation whose mission is “to promote emotional health and prevent suicide among college and university students.”
