The Dance Centre

We have not yet had the opportunity to interview The Dance Centre, if you work at or go to The Dance Centre please have someone from the studio email us at Brittany@BDancewear.com to set up an interview.

In the meantime here is some quick insights about this studio from their website.

The Dance CentreEstablished in 1986 as a resource centre for a broad membership of dance professionals and the public in British Columbia, The Dance Centre has evolved into a multifaceted organization offering a range of activities unparalleled in Canadian dance. Our goal is to support the development of dance and to develop an environment where it can thrive. We offer programs and resources supporting the professional development of artists, present public performances and events, manage Scotiabank Dance Centre, Canada’s flagship dance facility, and work to promote BC dance.

The Dance Centre exists as the core of our community, allowing artists of all mediums to come together with the public and experience dance on a wealth of levels. My term as a Resident Artist allowed the opportunity to work with four transitioned local dance artists to bring back works that may have never seen another life. The staff have always been supportive of my development and the access to the organization’s resources, guidance, space and community, has forever impacted my artistic evolution.
Josh Beamish, Artistic Director, MOVE: the company

The Dance Centre received a Downtown Vancouver Association Achievement Award (2000), a Spirit of Vancouver Award for outstanding spirit and commitment to the community and the arts (2002) and a Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association Appreciation Award for its outstanding contribution to downtown Vancouver (2012).
