We have not yet had the opportunity to interview the Panther Dance Team, if you are associated with the Panther Dance Team please have someone from the team email us at Brittany@BDancewear.com to set up an interview (only takes a few minutes and it’s free).
In the meantime here is some quick insights about this Panther Dance Team from their website.
The Panther Dance Team is the official dance team at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee and is a registered student organization at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM). Formerly called the Pom Pom Girls, the dance team has been active on campus since 1963. The team performs choreographed routines which integrate jazz, hip-hop, and traditional pom moves at soccer, volleyball, and basketball games and selected community appearances. The primary mission of the dance team is to support the athletic teams, assist the cheerleading squad in motivating the crowd, entertain the audience at games and other school functions, as well as promote overall school spirit. The dance team also represents the university in dance competitions and exhibitions. Every year the team represents the University at the Universal Dance Association college nationals held around the middle of January in Orlando, Florida. A secondary mission of the team is to foster a sense of community spirit and cooperation through appropriate appearances throughout the Milwaukee community. Part of the dance team’s responsibilities will be to perform and/or make appearances at community events. Once the team accepts a community appearance, the function becomes as important as an athletic event and should be treated as such.
