How To Change Your Maxi Skirt Pattern Into A Chevron Print Pattern

In this video, I’m going to show you how to take your A-line skirt pattern that I already showed you how to make or you can get one in the store. I’m using Jersey cotton, it is my favorite to wear during the summer time. Polyester also works, you just want to make sure that the material has a good stretch to it. Enjoy!

Supplies:

  1. Pattern Paper
  2. Ruler
  3. Scissors
  4. Marker

We are going to begin with the pattern that we already made, and fold it in half at the center seam. I like the chevron going down, it gives it a slimming look. One thing you are going to want to make sure is to match up every single line whether it be in the center, side, or back so it doesn’t look inexpensive. You will need a striped fabric for this. Draw a straight line on pattern once you have decided how deep you want the angles. On the band pattern, I’m going to fold it in half, then mark the fold with a marker. You can then take the pattern paper, line it up and continue to make your lines throughout the pattern. It’s really that easy to get a chevron pattern on a maxi skirt or anything you would like to do!
