How to Create a Unique Looking Skirt Part 2

In this video, I am going to show you how to create a unique looking skirt. This particular one happens to be two layers. The thing I like about this skirt is it has a lot of flow and movement like a circle skirt. If you want a circle skirt flow but you don’t want the straight cut of the circle cut, then this is the guide for you.

Supplies:

  1.   Measuring Tape
  2.   Scissors
  3.   Sharpie
  4.   Ruler
  5.   Pattern Paper of Old Sheet

Directions:

  1. Sew The Fabric Together

Now we have the pattern for the skirt, I have mine askew because I like it that way. I would suggest putting it on the girl so you can see where you want the layers. Also decide where you want the center back and pin it. Now get the band, and have the side of the fabric you want to see laying down facing you. Fold it in half and sew it together. Stretch it to make sure it doesn’t snap apart. Put the backsides together and it on the seam of the center back. Stretch and pin the other side to the front. I am going to start in the back and as I go I am making sure the band stays flat and that all the layers are there. You can sew the band on now. Now we will add in the swirl fabrics. I have 3 that I am going to use. I am going to fold the longer one in half and pinch them together. Now sew it doing a small stitch because you don’t want to see it and there you have your finished unique looking skirt.
