Libby O’Toole, Dancer of the Week, describes herself as a dancer for LOVV the Dance Studio. She is 11 years old and in the fifth grade. Libby loves to dance, hang out with her friends, go to school and church, do creative projects and help with community service like Feed My Starving Children, Loaves and Fishes, etc. She is always willing to donate her time and heart towards others and help with anything anybody needs help with. She is a bubbly and energetic girl, with a kind heart and is always trying to do her best and excel in everything possible.
Libby got started in dancing when she was 5 years old. She had taken a ballet class when she was 3 but wasn’t very interested. Libby and her mom wanted to try dancing again. Her mom signed Libby up for a combo class of ballet and tap at a local studio and Libby fell in love with dance at that moment. Her mom says she smiled so much during her first recital that her mom knew dancing was Libby’s thing. Libby started doing competitive dance the next year when she was in first grade, and has been doing it ever since. She has learned the all of the styles – lyrical, jazz, hip-hop, ballet, contemporary, modern, musical theater, tap, and character. She can’t pick a favorite!
Libby has always wanted to win a first overall, and a regional and national title. She is hoping to accomplish these things very soon in her dance career.
Her experience buying from Bailar Dancewear was magnificent! She ordered briefs to match her solo costume and they got here very quickly. The dark grey briefs from Bailar Dancewear were the exact match to go with her amazing dress that was embellished with appliques and rhinestones for her lyrical solo. She needed the costume (the dress and the briefs) for a competition which was coming up very soon. She found the briefs to b extremely comfortable to dance in and they moved with her body. There were a lot of color choices and the material is very soft and flexible, while also being very fashionable at the same time! She says she would recommend Bailar to anyone!
Libby’s goals for this year include winning a first overall, winning a title, working on her technical skills and improving how she executes her tumbling [Ariel, Back Handspring, etc.], and overall improving as a dancer
Libby hopes her dancing takes her to many different places such as maybe owning a studio, dancing in a Broadway show, being a convention teacher, and especially being a role model for younger dancers. Overall she hopes dance takes her to becoming the best that she can be in all aspects of her life.
