Premier Tumbling & Dance Interview with Angie McNeil

At the StudioPremier Tumbling & Dance in Loveland, Ohio, has been open for a little over ten years and offers every style of dance and every level of tumbling for all ages.  Whether the students are recreational or competitive dancers, Premier has a class for that!  Their programs have top notch instructors and have been voted best in the Cincinnati Area by Cincinnati Family Magazine.  They are proud to have programs for everyone!  They have home school programs, after school programs, Tot programs, Special Needs classes and adult fitness.  Premier “Gym and Learn” is their new Preschool Program offered three days a week.  Their studio has caring and creative coaches that make their classes fun for the students while still sticking to a curriculum so the parents always get what they pay for.  They all love their job and want the best for the kids, just as the parents do.

According to their Competition Director, Angie McNeil, their staff is what makes them different.  They are a family business and have grown from a small summer tumbling program to what they are now.  All of their coaches have great relationships with their students while still maintaining professionally run classes.  As, Angie said before, they all love what they do and they love to see the kids grow and improve.  Sometimes the coaches get more excited about a student learning a new trick than the student does.  You can see by watching their classes that they actually care about the kids and love what they do.

Premier has amazing programs for every level of students.  They have recreational classes beginning at 18 months through 18 years.  They also have adult fitness classes which are so much fun to take.  Angie loves teaching all of her classes and she loves all of her students.  They make going to work exciting and fun for her. She never dreads going into work because her students are hardworking and want to learn. She feels very proud of the business they have created.

Angie is not sure if there is one specific moment that she can pinpoint as being her proudest.  But she will say that once they finish up a recital and she sees those little ones on stage waving and smiling, it makes her feel good.  You know that they are proud of what they did and their parents are happy as well.  It makes her feel good that it is something that she helped create.  Also, seeing their dancers come off stage at a competition with a glow, knowing that they did their best and they were rewarded for it.  Seeing the improvement and seeing that the dancer knows they have accomplished something great is priceless.

The biggest mistake Angie sees in dancers is expecting perfection.  Tricks and technique Kidsare something to grow at and it is, most the time, an easy fix with a couple of classes or lessons.  But a lack of confidence is something that she sees a lot of in her dancers and sometimes it is not an easy fix.  It takes encouraging and positive reinforcement along with the corrections to get them where they want to be.  No one is ever going to be a perfect dancer, there is always something to work for and there will always be someone better than you.  But they teach their kids to shoot for better than their last performance, and to only compare themselves to the dancer they used to be.  With that, comes confidence and the technique and tricks come easier!

A goal that Angie has for their studio this year is to keep growing their programs and making sure that each student is achieving what they came to Premier Tumbling & Dance to achieve. She wants them to feel comfortable in their classes and enjoy coming each week and learning.  From a competitive standpoint, her goal is to have every dancer leave a competition this year happy.  She wants them to feel that they have done their best and leave with confidence about themselves.

Whether you want to just take classes or take the spotlight on stage, we they have the class for you! They offer recreational and competitive classes for all levels, ages, and styles! RehearsalDuring the summer, Premier offers four themed Summer Camps each a week long which run from June through the end of July. Join a Circus, get the royal treatment in our Princess Camp, join their Musical Haphazardly Ever After, and learn tumbling skills and tricks in their Acro camp which will end in a performance on stage.

Premier is a family business, which is run by Angie’s mom, sister and herself.  They all have been in the tumbling, dance and cheer world since they could walk.  They have been to various places and learned from some great people, but they realized they wanted to open a place that focused on building confidence in a fun, creative environment.  They wanted to give people something that they had always wanted in a studio.  They started as a summer tumbling program in a park and realized they wanted to do it year round in a place that could give their students more area to grow.  After a little over ten years, they have grown from a tumbling program to a studio that offers everything!

They have amazing programs for every level of students.  They have recreational classes beginning at 18 months through 18 years.  They also have adult fitness classes which are so much fun to take.  Angie loves teaching all of her classes and she loves all of her students.  They make going to work for her exciting and fun.
